riechiDr Andrew Rasugu Riechi is an accomplished researcher and policy analyst. He has over 15 years of work experience in education administration, research and consultancy, and educational development.

He holds a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Economics of Education from Zakir Hussain Centre for Educational Studies/Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, India, and a Master of Education degree in Economics of Education from Kenyatta University and a Bachelor of Education degree in Economics & Business Studies from University of Nairobi.

Dr. Riechi is currently a Lecturer, Department of Educational Management, Policy & Curriculum Studies, Kenyatta University, an Associate Fellow, Social Sector, Institute of Policy Analysis and Research (IPAR), Lead Consultant and Policy Analyst at the Education Enhancement Centre. Prior to this, he worked at IPAR as a Policy Analyst/Research Fellow & Programme Coordinator, Social Sector from 2005 to April 2010. He also worked at Kenyatta University, Department of Educational Administration, Planning & Curriculum Development as a Lecturer of Economics of Education and Educational Planning. Dr. Riechi was a deputy Principal at Itibo High School before joining Kenyatta University.

He has handled consultancies and research projects with organizations/institutions which include; UNESCO-International Institute for Educational Planning (IIEP), Some of the research consultancies and reports done by Dr. Riechi include; Employee job satisfaction survey for Kenya Tourism Board (KTB), Public Expenditure Tracking of Secondary Education Bursary Fund Scheme in Kenya Phase I & II, (The Results for Development Institute/Brookings Institution, Washington, D. Dr. Riechi has key research interest in educational planning, policy research, program evaluation, impact analysis, educational research, development of learning materials, developing grant proposals, report writing, training for capacity building and workshop facilitation.

His has well developed research and professional skills in Results Measurement Framework Monitoring & Evaluation, MS Project for Monitoring & Evaluation, Programme Coordination, Quantitative and Qualitative Research, Survey Research and types of Research designs involving Primary as well as Secondary sources of Data, Research Design including development of Tools for Data Collection, Coding, Data processing and analysis through SPSS 10.0, and MS Excel.

He is a Member of Women Educational Researchers of Kenya (WERK), a National Research Panel, Kenya Institute of Education (KIE), National Advisory Committee of UWEZO, a national research project on learning assessment, which is implemented by the Women Educational Researchers of Kenya (WERK), Research Technical Committee, Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC), a BoG member of Entanda Mixed Secondary School, Central Kisii district and Chairman, Board of Trustees Staff Retirement Benefits Scheme, Institute of Policy Analysis and Research (IPAR).

Dr. Riechi was a Visiting professor in the Department of Educational Planning and Management, Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia (April 2010).
